We undertake conservation restoration of antique plasterwork, stucco and composition, staircases, antique panelling, antique interior woodwork and antique doors, frames and other wooden details to the highest of standards in strict adherence to the ICON code of ethics.

We are fully committed to the preservation of our cultural heritage and historic interiors. We are happy to undertake commissions for institutions and private clients, no project is too big or small.

The owner - David Burton has an HND (distinction) in furniture restoration and a Post Graduate Diploma in antique furniture and related objects conservation. He also has a University of Sussex Masters degree in Conservation.

David is a member of the Institute of Conservation (UK) and combined with over 20 years of conservation & restoration experience you are in safe hands.

Antique Stucco, Composition & Plaster Restoration and Conservation

A 19th century plaster urn had fallen and shattered. We took a mould from an existing urn in order to reproduce the design. This was then Gilded with 24ct Gold Leaf.

The new plaster urn was re-intstated on site, the final filling and gilding done in-situ.

We are always in line with ICON conservation principles and English Heritage's approach to historic buildings.

Antique Staircase Restoration, Antique Joinery and Woodwork Restoration and Conservation

An early 18th century carved Staircase Restored to it's former glory using ICON conservation principles in line with English Heritage's approach to historic buildings.

The Newel post and cap was dismantled and restored at our Hampshire workshops before being re-intstated.

Missing turnings can be re-produced using authentic 18th century pole-lathe methods to provide a perfect facsimile.

Antique Interior Restoration, Antique Gilding and Marble Restoration and Conservation

We French polish on site if required meaning projects like this Grand Piano won't need to be moved and re-tuned.

We can clean, conserve and restore Antique Woodwork, Marble, Antique Gilding and Gilt wood surfaces.

The service extends to all of your Antique country or town house interior, no job is too big or too small.

We can even produce one off speciality items such as these hand made Barley twists made from Oak on the pole-lathe to produce an authentic result.
